Getting started

• Add something to read: paste an arXiv link, open a PDF, or add a web page, a post or a YouTube link.
• Ask about it: select text and choose Explain or Ask, or open the paper's chat.
• Choose your AI: in Settings, sign in with your AI account, add a key for the service you prefer, or use a model on your Mac.

Common questions

Do I need an AI subscription? Reading, highlighting and notes work without one. AI answers use your own AI account, an API key for the service you choose, or a model on your Mac.

Where is my data? On your Mac. The privacy policy explains exactly what is sent where when you use AI, voice or imports.

How do I stop sharing with an AI service? Settings › Sharing with AI services.

How do I keep my library on several Macs? Choose a sync folder in Settings, for example in iCloud Drive.

Reporting a problem

It helps to include your macOS version, the app version (Nexus Reader › About Nexus Reader), and what you were doing when it happened.
